Lookups

This icon is a link to the Phrase grid (found under the Database menu), but with a search filter applied, so that only phrases related to lookups are listed.

A lookup is a special phrase type, used for constraining the input of certain form fields, to a list of predefined choices. Currently, the only lookup used in zoglair is for the “Album” column of the Upload table.

Lookup format is similar to the one found in traditional *.ini files. Specifically, each line in a lookup phrase is a name=value pair construct. The name part must conform to the node naming conventions and is what is actually stored in the database. The value part is for displaying purposes only. If the value is the same as the name, then you can omit it (along with the equal sign).
